Hi Rufus Just browsing through your 'online home' and was fascinated to read the 'schooldays' essays! Particularly the one on school as an institution, in particular, Oundle! So many important observations here on a variety of levels. I suspect not much has changed.
We are presently in France in searing cold and searing blue skies life is good as the house is warm and we venture to the theatre tonight,an acrobatic piece on male stereotypes! A Bientot jenny

A very boring film; I had to force myself to finish it. Did it have a point? Or was in just self indulgence on the part of the filmmaker?
Ps Where is the rest of the article after'beautiful and moving'?

Thanks for starting this;

What I am looking for is a site that offers musical recordings (I guess 78 rpm records only, unfortunately, don't bother with wax rolls and the like) that have entered into the public domain. The idea is to publish these as complete albums, complete with cover art where possible, and in lossy (.ogg) and lossless formats (flac) downloadable as 7-Zip archives (to ensure integrity). Ideally the site offers metadata to allow for easy searching, offer streaming previews, and allow for easy iPod (etc.) integration.

I have searched far and wide but there isn't really a "sound recording" (as in musical work) Public Domain yet. A good example would be jamendo.com where CC-works are available. A bad example would be the US LoC National Jukebox (one cannot download as even works from 1900AD are still under "state law" copyright).
